Rookie QB Bust

I was watching E60 on the Matthew Stafford story with him and his "makeover" and I was wondering who will be the biggest bust of the QB's in this years draft? (Stafford, Sanchez, or Freeman) I think it was Todd McShay who said that Statford was going to be the biggest bust and I think it as Mel Kiper who said Mark Sanchez was going to be the biggest bust, I probably am wrong with who said what.

Don't forget to answer the homework assignment below

  1. I do have to say that Kent has a very good point about Sanchez and at USC, but I personally think that they will all be a bust except for Stafford because really anything is better than what Detroit had last year.

  2. Detroit had Kitna who was a top 5 quaterback in yards, and threw up some pretty good numbers, yet they still were trash. They have good recievers, but it's going to be hard to win games when your defense will give up more points than you can imagine, and stafford will have no time to throw the ball with the d line rushing him with no contest. Stafford will be ok.

Sanchez fits the New York picture, and will meet his expectations.

    Freeman, will he even start?

  3. Sanchez, like Leinart, enjoys the attention a little too much it seems. I think he should have stayed for his senior season to make more progress. It's hard to come right out and say he will be a bust but I think he has the highest potential to be a bust. Look out for Tom Brandstater in the 6th round and Nate Davis in the 5th round to be big steals though. That is one thing I can say confidently. Brandstater is a monster at 6'5" and could play for Denver middle to late season if Orton sucks. Davis came out of college early so he will take time to devolp but has the talent to be a starting QB.

  4. And Freeman will start mid way through season because Leftwich will probably start at first.

  5. sanchez has been running an extremely complex pro style offense since high school. like not even kidding that school runs a full pro offense with the same checks because half their coaching staff played in the league and they get tapes from everywhere and has known how to break it down. the Leinart comparison doesn't match up at all, guy works his butt off and isn't doing it for the attn at all. He's gonna be great, just watch

  6. plus sanchez is going to an already good team in the jets, thats huge to look at. ie: flacco with the ravens last year. But to answer the question im gonna go with stafford. he was shaky at times in college and getting sentenced, i mean drafted, to the lions is just a terrible situation

  7. So you don't think Leinart worked his butt off? I'll admit I was impressed with Sanchez's work ethic but they be because he gets so much publicity. Whose to say Stafford isn't working just as hard? Sanchez also should have stayed for his senior season considering he has only started 16 colligiate games so he will need time to devolp. If he's rushed he will struggle.

  8. Stafford ran a pro style offense in college and started 33 games in college which is more than twice as many than Sanchez

  9. I agree with Joe K about Sanchez should have stayed. I wouldn't doubt Sanchez so much if he would have two years as a starting quarterback.

  10. Also, the jets lost Coles who was a big play reciever although they still do have Crotchery. So the Jets are an ok team, but i dont think that Sanchez will be the qb to take them to the next level.

Oh and i disagree with joe k on ethans question of freeman, i dont think that freeman will start this year unless the bucs are desperate, maybe next year though

  11. Why wouldn't Freeman start a few games this year? The guy is a monster at 6'6", 250 lbs, and Leftwich will probably be bench by week 8 or 9, espically if the team is losing.

  12. Yea but the Bucs as we speak have 5 QB's which include Josh Johnson, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Byron leftwich and Josh Freeman so i don't think he will get the start this season unless they play pitiful the first half of the season.

  13. It doesn't matter that they have five because they're most likely only going into the season with three anyway and Freeman is going to be one. So they don't have to play 'pitiful' because if theyre 3-5 or 3-6 or anywhere under .500 they will make a switch. Besides I'd say right now Freeman gives the Bucs the second best chance to win out of all of those QB's. Leftwich might be better to start from week one, Griese is a second stringer, McCown has only started 7 games over the past 3 seasons and has 10 picks to show for it, and Josh Johnson has too many question makrs considering he hasn't played in a game yet.

  14. Yea but of that group Leftwhich is probably the best, i dont think that he will be benched during the season

  15. Tampa Bay is not an outstanding team and may lose some games early on. And considering LEftwich isn't a long term answer he will undoubtly be benched if they begin to lose.
